Frequently asked questions
Will fonts and formatting stay exactly the same?
Yes — PDF embeds the exact rendered output, so formatting that might shift between Word versions or missing fonts on the reader's device is locked in permanently.
Can I convert multiple Word files to PDF at once?
Yes, upload multiple .doc/.docx files and each is converted to its own PDF.
Does it preserve embedded images and tables?
Yes, all embedded images, tables, and formatting are rendered exactly as they appear in the source document.
Will headers, footers and page numbering carry over?
Yes — the document is rendered as laid out, so headers, footers, page numbering, margins and section breaks appear in the PDF exactly where Word put them.
Do I need Microsoft Word installed?
No. The conversion happens on our side, so you can turn a DOCX into a PDF from a machine that has never had Office on it — including a Chromebook or a phone.
Why is the PDF bigger than my Word file?
A DOCX references fonts and compresses images aggressively because it assumes Word will render it. A PDF has to embed the fonts and carry the images so it looks identical everywhere, which costs size. Run Compress PDF if you need it smaller for email.
